OSU's Mullings, UW's Sonkin Share Weekly Honors

The 83rd-ranked Mullings went unbeaten this weekend, winning four matches in the Buckeyes' road victories over No. 66 Indiana and No. 47 Penn State. With straight-set wins against IU's David Bubenicek (6-2, 6-3) and PSU's Ryan Berger (6-2, 6-2), Mullings improved to 20-9 on the year in singles. The Freeport, Bahamas native paired with Chris Klingemann for two doubles victories on the weekend, improving their record to 17-1 this season. This marks the second weekly nod of Mullings' career and the third-consecutive for an OSU athlete.

Sonkin earns weekly honors for the third time this season after compiling a 4-0 weekend against Iowa and No. 40 Minnesota. The Wheaton, Ill. native defeated Bart van Monsjou 6-3, 6-1 in No. 1 singles to lead the Badgers to a 6-1 victory over the Hawkeyes. Against the Gophers, Sonkin fought through two tie breakers to take out 59th-ranked D.J. Geatz 7-6 (6), 7-6 (9), his second victory against a ranked opponent this season. He also teamed with Nolan Polley as the 55th-ranked tandem in the country for two doubles wins, improving the duo's record to 9-2 this season at the top doubles spot.
