Ohio State's Chase Buchanan hauls in his third Big Ten Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week award this season after leading the third-ranked Buckeyes to wins over No. 12 Kentucky, No. 60 Michigan State and No. 23 Michigan last week. Buchanan and Shuhei Uzawa opened the week with an 8-7 win at No. 2 doubles against Kentucky's Alberto Gonzalez and Tom Jomby, the 51st-ranked pair in the country. Buchanan, ranked 14th nationally in singles, then downed 51st-ranked Alex Musialek at No. 2 singles, clinching the 4-3 match in favor of Ohio State. Buchanan and Uzawa earned an 8-7 (11-9) win over the Spartans' Austin Brooks and Aaron Pfister at No. 2 doubles before Buchanan defeated Denis Bogatov, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles to push the Buckeyes to a 7-0 sweep of Michigan State. The Ohio State duo took an 8-2 decision over Michigan's Shaun Bernstein and Barrett Franks at No. 2 doubles, with Buchanan adding a 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 victory over 21st-ranked Evan King at No. 1 singles to lead Ohio State to a 6-1 win against the Wolverines.
