Bryan Koniecko, Ohio State

Senior tri-captain Bryan Koniecko, currently ranked third in singles in the latest Campbell/ITA Tennis Rankings, won two singles and three doubles matches this past weekend as the No. 2 Ohio State men's tennis team improved to 28-1 overall and a perfect 10-0 in conference play to claim is fourth-consecutive Big Ten regular season title. Koniecko defeated No. 50 Marek Michalicka of Wisconsin 6-1, 7-5, on Sunday to help improve the Buckeyes home win streak to 87-consecutive matches. Koniecko is now 23-4 against nationally-ranked opponents this season and has an overall record of 34-4. The win against Michalicka puts Koniecko tied for third on the all-time career wins list with former Buckeye Roger Smith (1983-86) with 126 victories. In doubles, Koniecko improved to 28-3 this season with three match wins. In his last match of the weekend paired with senior-tri captain Ty Schaub, Koniecko swept Wright State’s Brad Krick and Pip Rehg, 8-0, at No. 3 doubles to become the program's all-time career doubles wins leader with 119 victories.
