Big Ten Men's Tennis Tournament Bracket

PARK RIDGE, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced the seedings and pairings for the 2011 Men's Tennis Tournament on Sunday, with conference champion Ohio State taking the No. 1 seed. The top-seeded Buckeyes closed the regular season with a 10-0 record in Big Ten play and a 27-2 mark overall. After earning the No. 1 seed, Ohio State receives a bye into the quarterfinals.

Indiana closed the regular season at 9-1 in conference matches and 22-6 overall en route to the No. 2 seed. Minnesota follows at the No. 3 seed after compiling an 8-2 Big Ten record and a 17-4 mark overall. Fourth-seeded Illinois (15-9 overall, 7-3 Big Ten) will square off with fifth-seeded Michigan (13-9, 6-4) in the quarterfinals.

The third-seeded Gophers will take on the winner of No. 6 seed Wisconsin (11-12, 5-5) and No. 11 Penn State (10-17, 0-10) in the second round, while the second-seeded Hoosiers will face either No. 7 Purdue (12-12, 3-7) or No. 10 Iowa (8-12, 2-8) in the quarterfinals. The top-seeded Buckeyes await the winner of No. 8 Michigan State (17-8, 3-7) and No. 9 Northwestern (11-13, 2-8) in the second round.

The tournament is scheduled to begin on Thursday, with first-round matches taking place beginning at 9 a.m. CT at the University of Wisconsin's Nielsen Tennis Stadium. Friday will feature quarterfinal matches beginning at 10 a.m. CT, while Saturday will showcase the tournament semifinals starting at 10 a.m. CT. Sunday's championship match is scheduled for Noon CT.

The Big Ten Network will broadcast the championship match on tape delay on Saturday, May 7 at 6 p.m. ET.
