Third-ranked Ohio State advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tennis Championships Thursday after downing No. 25 Boise State, 4-0, at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas.

With the win, the Buckeyes (34-1) improve their win streak to 24 consecutive dual matches while shutting out 18 of their last 26 opponents. OSU ups its NCAA slate to 20-9 under head coach Ty Tucker, earning its fifth quarterfinal berth in as many seasons. Up next, the Buckeyes will face sixth-ranked Baylor (26-5) in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 5 p.m. (ET). The Bears defeated No. 18 Wake Forest, 4-1, on Thursday to emerge from the Round of 16.

No. 13-ranked Illinois ended its NCAA Championship run on Thursday, dropping a hard-fought 4-3 decision to two-time defending NCAA Champion and fourth-ranked Georgia. The Orange and Blue end the season with a 23-9 overall record. Three Illini still look to continue in the singles and doubles portion of the tournament. No. 39-ranked Dennis Nevolo and No. 50-ranked Roy Kalmanovich received at-large bids for the NCAA Tournament singles draw, slated to begin on Wednesday, May 20, and the No. 21-ranked duo of Nevolo and Ruan Roelofse will compete in the doubles draw starting on Thursday, May 21.
