May 18 - UCLA 4, Ohio State 2 - No. 3 seed Ohio State dropped a 4-2 decision to No. 6 seed UCLA Sunday in an Elite Eight match of the NCAA Championship at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. The Buckeyes conclude the season with a record of 33-4.


May 18 - Following Friday's exciting win over Florida, No. 3 seed Ohio State will face No. 6 seed UCLA at 4 p.m. ET Sunday in an Elite Eight match of the NCAA Championship at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.

The Buckeyes are 3-3 all-time against UCLA, including a 1-2 record in the NCAA Championship. Ohio State fell to UCLA 4-3 last season in the semifinal round of the NCAA Championship.


May 16 - Ohio State 4, Florida 3 - With its 4-3 victory over No. 14 seed Florida on Friday night, No. 3 seed Ohio State advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Championship at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. The Buckeyes will next face No. 6 seed UCLA on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.


May 16 - Baylor 4, Illinois 0 - No. 12 seed Illinois fell to No. 5 seed Baylor 4-0 Friday afternoon in a Round of 16 matchup at the NCAA Championship at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. The Illini finish the season with a record of 24-9.


May 16 - No. 3 seed Ohio State and No. 12 seed Illinois will each take the court in NCAA Round of 16 action Friday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. The Illini will face No. 5 seed Baylor at noon ET while the Buckeyes will take on No. 14 seed Florida at 7 p.m.


 

 

Illinois and Baylor have met once previously this spring, with the Illini falling 4-0 on March 16 in Indian Wells, Calif. Illinois is 4-4 all-time against Baylor, including a 4-3 semifinal victory over the Bears in 2007 in their only previous meeting at the NCAA Championship.

Ohio State will also take on a familiar foe as the Buckeyes defeated the Gators 4-1 back on Feb. 14 en route to the ITA National Team Indoor title. Ohio State is 1-0 against Florida in the NCAA Championship with their lone meeting taking place in the Round of 16 in 2012. The Buckeyes won that match by a score of 4-1.


May 11 - Virginia 4, Penn State 1 - Penn State dropped a 4-1 decision against No. 4 seed Virginia in Sunday's NCAA Second Round match. The Nittany Lions won the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2, but Virginia won four singles matches. Penn State finished the year with a 22-6 record.


May 11 - One Big Ten team will be in action Sunday in the second round of the NCAA Championship. The Nittany Lions will take on No. 4 seed Virginia at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday in Charlottesville, Va.


May 10 - Illinois 4, Memphis 3 - No. 12 seed Illinois advanced to the round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament Saturday with a 4-3 home victory over Memphis.


May 10 - Ohio State 4, Wake Forest 0 - No. 3 Ohio State defeated Wake Forest, 4-0, in the second round of the NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Team Championship and will play the winner between Florida (16-9) and South Florida (19-6) at 7 p.m. on May 16 in the round of 16 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.


May 10 - Oklahoma State 4, Michigan 2 - Despite winning the doubles point and earning a singles victory from senior Alex Buzzi, Michigan men's tennis team fell to 28th-ranked Oklahoma State, 4-2, in the first round of the NCAA Championships on Saturday (May 10) at Marks Stadium on the campus of the University of Southern California.


May 10 - Mississippi 4, Northwestern 1 - No. 30 Northwestern's season ended in heartbreak in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, as No. 38 Ole Miss beat the `Cats 4-1 in a very tight, even match. The `Cats finish 21-11 on the season.


May 10 - Penn State 4, UNC-Wilmington 2 - Penn State earned a tough 4-2 win over UNC-Wilmington in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday. The Nittany Lions will take on No. 4 seed Virginia at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.


May 10 - Five Big Ten teams will be in action Saturday in the first and second rounds of the NCAA Championship. After winning at home on Friday, Illinois and Ohio State will each host second round matches on Saturday. The Buckeyes will face Wake Forest at noon ET while the Illini will host Memphis at 4 p.m. In opening round action, Penn State squares off against UNC-Wilmington at 9 a.m. in Charlottesville, Va., Northwestern faces Mississippi at 10 a.m. in South Bend, Ind., and Michigan takes on Oklahoma State at noon in Los Angeles.


May 9 - Illinois 4, Ball State 0 - No. 12 seed Illinois opened NCAA play with a 4-0 home victory over Ball State on Friday. The Illini will host Memphis at 4 p.m. ET Saturday in second round action.


May 9 - Ohio State 4, Bryant 0 - No. 3 seed Ohio State cruised to a 4-0 victory on its home court against Bryant in its first round NCAA match Friday afternoon. The Buckeyes will now face Wake Forest (15-13) at noon ET Saturday in the NCAA second round.


May 9 - Clemson 4, Purdue 1 - No. 40 Purdue was knocked out of the NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon. Clemson, ranked No. 21 in the latest ITA College Tennis Poll, defeated the Boilermakers 4-1.


May 9 - Three Big Ten teams compete in the NCAA Men's Tennis Championship on Friday. At noon ET, Purdue faces Clemson in the first round in Lexington, Ky. At 1 p.m. ET, third-seeded Ohio State will host Bryant in the opening round. Finally, No. 12 seed Illinois will host Ball State at 5 p.m. ET. Michigan, Northwestern and Penn State will each open the tournament with first round contests on Saturday.
