Ohio State Topped by USC in NCAA Championship Final

In its premier national championship final match, the third-seeded Ohio State men's tennis team fell to No. 8-seed USC, 4-1, Tuesday at the 2009 NCAA Championships in College Station, Texas. The Buckeyes complete a stellar campaign, setting the school record for most wins in a regular season (36), longest dual match win streak (28) and best-single season winning percentage (.947) to cap off its 10th consecutive 20-win season.

The Buckeyes are now 22-10 overall in NCAA action under the direction of 10th-year head coach Ty Tucker, who was named Wilson/ITA National Coach of the Year on Tuesday.

Ohio State is now 1-3 all-time against the USC Trojans (25-5), who finished the season winning 13 of its last 14 dual matches en route to the national title.
