In a contest that featured tiebreakers to decide all three sets, No. 4 seed Peter Kobelt and Kevin Metka of Ohio State fell to No. 2 seed Hunter Reese and Mikelis Libietis of Tennessee 7-6 (4), 6-7 (3), 7-6 (6) on Monday afternoon in the national championship match.

For the second time in three years a Buckeye doubles team will compete for an NCAA title. Peter Kobelt and Kevin Metka will play in the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Doubles Championship final Monday afternoon following a 7-6 (2), 6-3 win vs. Oklahoma State's Arjun Kadhe and Jakob Sude in the semifinals Sunday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.
The Ohio State duo will face Hunter Reese and Mikelis Libietis of Tennessee in the title match at the conclusion of the men's and women's singles finals, which will begin at noon ET. Each of the NCAA championships matches will be streamed live on ncaa.com. A win Monday would not only give Kobelt and Metka a national crown, but also a selection into the 2014 U.S. Open doubles main draw beginning Aug. 25.

May 21 - The NCAA Men's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships are underway in Athens, Ga. Six singles players and three doubles pairs from the conference will compete in the national tournament, with singles action beginning today and doubles play commencing on Thursday.
A trio of conference players will take the court at 9 a.m. ET in the first matches of the day. Minnesota's Leandro Toledo will face No. 6 seed Alex Domijan of Virginia, Northwestern's Raleigh Smith will take on Jason Tahir from Duke and Penn State's Leonard Stakhovsky will meet Vanerbilt's Gonzales Austin.
At 11 a.m., Illinois' Farris Gosea will face Romain Bogaerts of Wake Forest while his Illini teammate Jared Hiltzik, the No. 8 seed in the draw, will meet Ben McLachlan of California at 3 p.m. Ohio State's Peter Kobelt will be the final Big Ten player on the court on Thursday when he takes on Roberto Quiroz of USC at 5:30 p.m.
