Big Ten Men's Tennis Begins Fall Play This Week

Michigan State hosts the Frank Beeman Invitational this weekend.

PARK RIDGE, Ill. - The 2011 Big Ten men's tennis fall schedule begins Friday with seven teams taking to the court for the first time this season. Iowa travels to Purdue for the Purdue Invitational, and Michigan State hosts the Frank Beeman Invitational. Northwestern and Wisconsin visit Milwaukee, Wis., for the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, Illinois makes its debut in Olympia Fields, Ill., for the OFCC Invitational and Penn State opens in Princeton, N.J., for the Princeton Invitational.

Michigan, Nebraska and Minnesota make their debuts the following weekend from Sept. 23-25. The Wolverines travel to Cambridge, Mass., for the Harvard Fall Chowder Invitational, the Huskers visit Denver, Colo., for the Denver Invitational and the Golden Gophers open in Athens, Ga., for the Southern Intercollegiates.

Ohio State and Indiana open play the first week of October in Tulsa, Okla., at the ITA/D'Novo All-American Championships.
