Big Ten Singles Championships Held This Weekend

Michigan State University will play host to this year's Big Ten Singles Championships, scheduled to begin Friday. The championships will run through Monday, with the doubles tournament being contested Friday and singles play scheduled for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The semifinal and final rounds for the singles and doubles draw will be played on Monday beginning at 9 a.m. ET.

Leading up to Monday's conclusion of the tournament, first- and second-round action of the 64-player singles draw will begin Saturday at 8 a.m. ET. Sunday's action, featuring the round of 16 and quarterfinals, will also begin at 8 a.m. ET.

Last year's championships, held at the University of Wisconsin, saw Iowa's Christian Bierich lose just one set during his run through the tournament to the individual title, a 6-3, 6-4 win over Minnesota's Sebasitan Gallego. Michigan's George Navas won the consolation bracket, defeating Minnesota's Julian Dehn in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
