Big Ten Men's Outdoor Track & Field Season Set to Begin

The 2013 Big Ten outdoor track and field season is set to begin this week with Minnesota and Purdue taking to the track. The Boilermakers travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Thursday and Friday for the Shamrock Invite, while the Gophers visit Phoenix, Ariz., for the Castillo Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Seven Big Ten teams open their outdoor campaigns the following weekend. On March 22-23, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the Alabama Relays, Michigan visits Tallahasse, Fla., for the Florida State Relays, Nebraska travels to Phoenix for the Arizona State Invitational and Ohio State visits Nashville, Tenn., for the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational. On March 23, Illinois travels to Starkville, Miss., for the Big Ten/SEC Challenge.

The remaining Big Ten teams open their outdoor seasons on March 29-30. Michigan State visits Raleigh, N.C., for the Raleigh Relays, while Penn State travels to Palo Alto, Calif., for the Stanford Invitational.
