The 2012 Big Ten outdoor track and field season is set to begin this weekend with Minnesota taking to the track. The Golden Gophers travel to San Diego, Calif., for the Aztec Invitational, a two-day event which begins on Friday.
Seven Big Ten teams open their outdoor campaigns the following weekend. Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin travel to Starkville, Miss., on March 23 for the Big Ten/SEC Challenge. Michigan begins its season on March 24 in Los Angeles at the USC Invitational, while Nebraska visits Tempe, Ariz., March 23-24 for the Arizona State Invitational.
The remaining Big Ten teams open their outdoor seasons on March 30-31. Iowa travels to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Arkansas Invite, while Michigan State and Penn State visit Tucson, Ariz., for the Jim Click Shootout.
