Big Ten Qualifies 16 for NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Day 1 of Preliminaries

Sixteen Big Ten student-athletes qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships after the first day of preliminaries on Thursday. Multiple student-athletes also moved on to the quarterfinals in their respective events, which will take place on Friday and Saturday. The East Preliminary in Bloomington, Ind., and the West Preliminary in Eugene, Ore., resume on Friday at 10 a.m. local time.

Mike Hartfield, OSU - long jump (5th)
Blake Eaton, PSU - shot put (5th)

Geoff Davis, PUR - high jump (T-1st)
Jakob Engel, PUR - shot put (7th)
Maverick Darling, WIS - 10,000-meter (10th)

Women's Qualifiers
Kelsie Ahbe, IND - pole vault (T-4th)
Vera Neuenswander, IND - pole vault (T-1st)
Kiley Tobel, MICH - pole vault (12th)
Todea-Kay Willis, MINN - long jump (7th)
Beth Rohl, MSU - hammer throw (11th)
