June 5, 2013

An All-American in both cross country and track and a two-time Capital One Academic All-America selection, Elliot Krause spent five years racking up individual accolades while leading the Wisconsin men’s track and cross country programs to a host of team championships.

The Appleton, Wis., native was part of four Big Ten and Great Lakes cross country championships, securing three first-team All-Big Ten nods and two first-team All-Great Lakes Region honors. As a senior, Krause led the Badgers to their fifth national title with an All-America performance at the 2011 NCAA Cross Country Championship.

On the track, Krause contributed to UW’s dramatic win on its home track at the 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships with an All-Big Ten and runner-up finish in the 10,000 meters. He earned All-America honors on the track with his sixth-place finish in the 10,000 at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

An accomplished student, Krause earned Capital One Academic All-America awards in 2011 and 2012 and was named All-Academic by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country three times each in cross country and track. Three times a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Krause earned Academic All-Big Ten laurels seven times between the two sports.
