Big Ten Concludes First Day of NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

The Big Ten enjoyed a successful first day at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, highlighted by Nebraska's Chad Wright claiming the NCAA title in the discus. The Husker sophomore launched a throw of 62.79 meters to earn top honors, while teammate Tyler Hitchler placed sixth. In the 10,000-meter run, Wisconsin's Elliot Krause recording a sixth-place finish to pace the Badgers. 

On the women's side, four student-athletes earned top-eight performances. Penn State's Laura Loht and Lauren Kenney placed third and fourth, respectively, in the javelin. In the discus, Michigan State's Beth Rohl finished fourth while Nebraska's Morgan Wilken earned an eighth-place finish.
