Through Monday, the Big Ten will highlight the student-athletes nominated for the conference’s Athlete of the Year awards. Award winners are voted on by a pre-selected media panel and will be announced on Monday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. CT on BTN.

Raheem Mostert – Purdue – Track & Field/Football

Mostert joined the track team in January after football season ended, where he racked up 258 kick return yards and a touchdown. On the track, Mostert broke the Big Ten Championships record in the 200-meter dash and the school record in the 60-meter dash en route to a pair of indoor Big Ten titles. He was named the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Championships. During the outdoor season, Mostert picked up two more conference championships, claiming the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash crowns. He was again named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Championships. The junior picked up a pair of second-team All-America honors at the indoor NCAA Championships and added a pair of second-team All-America laurels, as well as an honorable mention nod, at the outdoor NCAA Championships.
