Through Monday, the Big Ten will highlight the student-athletes nominated for the conference’s Athlete of the Year awards. Award winners are voted on by a pre-selected media panel and will be announced on Monday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. CT on BTN.

Miles Ukaoma – Nebraska – Track & Field

Ukaoma became the Huskers’ 78th national champion at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships, capturing the 400-meter hurdles title. He earned the national title with a lifetime-best-matching time of 49.23, cementing his spot at second all-time in the Nebraska record books. Ukamoa became a four-time All-American as a senior, earning the distinction in the 400-meter hurdles for the fourth time in his career.
