Big Ten Athlete of the Year Nominee - PUR's Geoff Davis

Through Tuesday, the Big Ten will highlight each of the 24 student-athletes nominated for the conference's Athlete of the Year awards. Award winners are voted on by a pre-selected media panel and will be announced next week.

Geoff Davis – Purdue – Men’s Track & Field
Davis closed his collegiate career by winning a bronze medal in the high jump at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, claiming first-team All-America honors. Davis recorded a runner-up finish in the high jump at this year’s Big Ten Outdoor Championships, marking his fourth consecutive year finishing among the top three at the championships. He placed fifth at the NCAA Indoor Championships, also earning All-America honors. The Indianapolis, Ind., native tied a Purdue record in the indoor high jump (2.26 meters) and tied his outdoor best and the school’s second-highest mark (2.24 meters) in outdoor competition.
