  • Won five bouts, including three pins, to claim the 165-pound title at the Southern Scuffle
  • Pinned Gardner Webb’s Justin Guthrie in 1:54 in the first round, following with a 21-6 technical fall against Old Dominion’s Tristan Warner and a pin in 2:13 against North Carolina’s John Staudenmayer
  • Earned a 12-3 major decision over Appalachian State’s 20th-ranked Kyle Blevins in the semifinals before pinning Minnesota’s 10th-ranked Cody Yohn in 2:34 to earn the title
  • Named the Southern Scuffle Most Outstanding Wrestler
  • Helped No. 5 Penn State earn the tournament’s team crown
  • Ranked No. 1 in the country at 165 pounds
  • Collects the first weekly Big Ten honor of his career
