Top-ranked Daniel Dennis garners his first career weekly laurel after capturing two Big Ten road wins against ranked opponents last week. The pair of triumphs improves Dennis to 21-2 overall and 16-2 in dual matches. After jumping to the top of the 133-pound rankings in last week's Intermat/NWCA/NWMA poll, Dennis began the week with a marquee matchup against defending Big Ten champion Franklin Gomez of Michigan State. The Hawkeye junior posted a 3-2 victory over his Spartan foe, who was ranked first by Amateur Wrestling News and W.I.N. Magazine. Dennis continued his winning ways with a 6-3 decision over ninth-ranked Jake Strayer of Penn State. With the wins, Dennis helped his top-ranked Hawkeye squad improve its unblemished slate to 20-0 and 4-0 in conference matches. Dennis has won his last six matches and is 4-0 in Big Ten duals.
