Co-Wrestlers of the Week

Chad Beatty, Iowa
So., 197, Wilton, Iowa / Wilton

Beatty scored two important wins over the weekend to help No. 1 Iowa clinch a share of the Big Ten regular season title.  Beatty, wrestling at 197, scored his first win of the weekend over Indiana' s Joe Fagiano in a 9-7 decision.  In Sunday's match against Michigan, the Hawkeyes trailed the Wolverines 16-12 heading into Beatty's match.  Iowa needed a victory from Beatty in order to keep the team win a possibility.  The sophomore did not disappoint and earned a 2-1 triumph over No. 15 Anthony Biondo.  The Hawkeyes are now 20-1 on the season and 7-0 in Big Ten duals.  Iowa can win the Big Ten crown outright with a win against Illinois or an Ohio State loss.  This is Beatty's first career weekly accolade.

Last Iowa WOW: Brent Metcalf (1/23/08)

Zach Tanelli, Wisconsin
Jr., 133, Short Hills, N.J. / Millburn

Tanelli was a major contributor in leading Wisconsin to two dual wins over Big Ten opponents this weekend.  Against Michigan, the junior won in convincing fashion against Chris Diehl in a major decision, 14-1.  Tanelli then faced No. 5 Mack Reiter of Minnesota on Sunday and put the Badgers on the board with a 5-1 win.  The Short Hill, N.J. native has 20 wins on the year and four in Big Ten action.  This is Tanelli's second career weekly laurel.

Last Wisconsin WOW: Dallas Herbst (1/23/08)
