The top seven finishers of each weight class earned berths in the NCAA Championships, and the coaches selected two wildcards and two alternates from the pool of eighth-place finishers. The wildcard berths were given to Wisconsin's Zach Tanelli, who finished eighth in the 133-pound bracket, and Indiana's Marc Bennett from the 184-pound division. Alternate selections include Illinois' Troy Tirapelle (149-pound) and Penn State's Bryan Heller (141-pounds) and Dave Rella (165-pounds).

At the conclusion of the championships the Big Ten Conference handed out awards to Minnesota's Jayson Ness for Freshman of the Year, Minnesota's Cole Konrad for Wrestler of the Year, Northwestern's Jake Herbert for Wrestler of the Championships, and Minnesota's J. Robinson for Coach of the Year.

In addition, the All-Big Ten conference first and second teams were named with the first team consisting of the champions from each weight class and the second team made-up of the runner-up in each division. First team honorees include Minnesota's Jayson Ness, Dustin Schlatter, CP Schlatter and Cole Konrad; Michigan State's Nick Simmons; Northwestern's Ryan Lang, Jake Herbert and Mike Tamillow; Iowa's Mark Perry; and Michigan's Steve Luke. Second team honors were awarded to Iowa's Charlie Falck; Indiana's Andrae Hernandez and Brandon Becker; Wisconsin's Kyle Ruschell; Michigan's Josh Churella and Eric Tannenbaum; Penn State's James Yonushonis and Aaron Anspach; Minnesota's Roger Kish; and Ohio State's James Bergman.
