Penn State Builds on Lead Through Day 2 at NCAA Wrestling Championships

Updated Brackets and Team Scores Through Day 2 ST. LOUIS - Penn State closed the second day of the NCAA Wrestling Championships with 124 points to lead all teams, while Minnesota (101.5 points) and Iowa (93) followed to round out the top three. Ohio State, Illinois and Michigan join the three teams in the top 10 as the Buckeyes are in fifth (60), the Fighting Illini are in sixth (57.5) and the Wolverines are in 10th (34.0). The Big Ten boasts at least one finalist in all but one weight class, including championship bouts with two Big Ten wrestlers in the 125-, 141- and 149-pound weight classes. Penn State has five wrestlers competing in title bouts, while Iowa has three, Minnesota has two and Michigan and Ohio State each have one. The final day of the NCAA Championships begins at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday, with third-, fifth- and seventh-place matches contested during the session. The sixth and final session, which features championship matches, follows at 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN.
