Penn State in First Place After Day Two at NCAA Wrestling Championships

Team Standings Through Day Two | Updated Brackets Through Day Two PHILADELPHIA - Through two days at the NCAA Wrestling Championships, Penn State remains in first place in the team standings. The Nittany Lions lead the championships with three wrestlers in final bouts in their respective weight classes, propelling them to a point total of 92.5. Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin join Penn State in the top 10, as the Hawkeyes hold third place with 74 points, the Gophers sit in ninth with 49.5 points and the Badgers check in at No. 10 with 44.5 points. Penn State's Frank Molinaro, David Taylor and Quentin Wright will compete in their weight class' title bout on Saturday. Molinaro, seeded second at 149 pounds, will square off with No. 4 Kyle Dake of Cornell in the finals, while third-seeded Taylor will take on No. 4 Bubba Jenkins of Arizona State in the 157 finals. Seeded ninth at 184, Wright will face second-seeded Robert Hamlin of Lehigh in the finals. Iowa's Matt McDonough, the No. 2 seed at 125, will take on No. 1 Anthony Robles of Arizona State in the championship round, while top-seeded 141-pounder Kellen Russell of Michigan will meet No. 3 Boris Novachkov of Cal Poly. Saturday's first session, which features the third-, fifth- and seventh-place matches, will kick off at 11 a.m. ET, with ESPNU and ESPN3.com providing coverage. The 10 championship bouts will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN.
