Penn State Leads After Day 1 of NCAA Wrestling Championships

Penn State holds the early lead at the NCAA Wrestling Championships, taking a 3.5-point lead heading into the second day of competition. The Nittany Lions earned 32.5 points in the first two sessions, followed by Oklahoma State in second and Minnesota in third. The Cowboys have 29 points, while the Golden Gophers have 24 points.
Iowa, Ohio State and Nebraska also hold spots in the top 10 after Day 1, as the Hawkeyes are in fourth, the Buckeyes are tied for sixth and the Huskers are eighth.
The second day of the NCAA Wrestling Championships begins at 10 a.m. CT on Friday with quarterfinal and wrestleback action highlighting the schedule. Session IV will follow at 6 p.m. CT with semifinal matches taking place during the session.
