Penn State Extends Lead Through Day 2 at NCAA Wrestling Championships

Penn State closed the second day of the NCAA Wrestling Championships with 114.5 points to lead all teams. The Nittany Lions are followed by Oklahoma State (94 points), Minnesota (86), Iowa (68) and Cornell (51) to round out the top five.
The Big Ten boasts at least one finalist in all but two weight classes, including championship bouts with two Big Ten wrestlers in the 125-, 133-, 157-, and 285-pound weight classes. Penn State has five wrestlers competing in title bouts, while Iowa and Northwestern have two and Illinois, Minnesota and Ohio State each have one.
The final day of the NCAA Championships begins at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday, with third-, fifth- and seventh-place matches contested during the session. The sixth and final session, which features championship matches, follows at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN.
