Through Tuesday, the Big Ten will highlight each of the 24 student-athletes nominated for the conference's Athlete of the Year awards. Award winners are voted on by a pre-selected media panel and will be announced next week.

Ed Ruth - Penn State - Wrestling
A three-time All-American, Ruth capped a perfect season with an NCAA Championship at 184 pounds, leading Penn State to its third consecutive NCAA team title. Ruth finished 33-0 on the season, including an 8-0 record in Big Ten duals, totaling 12 pins, four tech falls and 10 major decisions. Ruth scored two falls and two major decisions at the NCAA Championships, winning the title bout by a 12-4 margin. The junior grappler also took home his third Big Ten title and first Big Ten Wrestler of the Year Award. Ruth boasts a 68-match win streak dating back to March, 2011 and is 102-2 overall for his career. Click HERE for more information on Ed.
