Simmons claimed the 125-pound title at the Eastern Michigan Open last weekend, recording three falls and two shut-out victories.  He dominated his first three bouts of the event, posting a pair of falls in less than a minute, before pinning Central Michigan's Josh Williams at 3:14 in the quarterfinals.  Simmons earned a pair of 3-0 decisions in the semifinals against Ricky Deubel of Edinboro, and in the finals against his teammate Franklin Gomez.

Ben Wissel, Purdue

Wissel won the 184-pound title at the EMU Open with a 5-0 record. In five bouts, Wissel did not allow an offensive point while registering 26 takedowns. In the championship match, Wissel defeated Michigan's Tyrel Todd, 7-3. With the five wins, Wissel moved into the Purdue career top 20 with 81 wins (20th), and is now 11th in career takedowns with 244.
