- Led No. 4 Minnesota to its first Big Ten win of the season over No. 2 Penn State, taking down top-ranked Quentin Wright, 6-1, to help the Gophers to a 23-14 win over the defending NCAA and Big Ten Champion Nittany Lions
- Also wrestled against No. 4 Steve Bosak of Cornell in the Gophers’ dual against the fifth-ranked Big Red on Friday, falling in an 8-2 decision
- Earns the second weekly award of his career and his first this season
