Women’s Cross Country Co-Runners of the Week

Danielle Tauro, Michigan
So., Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional

Tauro opened the 2008 season in winning fashion finishing first in the Wolverine Open.  The Manahawkin, N.J., native ran the 5,000-meter course in 18:30 leading the race from start to finish.  Tauro also placed first in this meet last year.  This is Tauro’s first career weekly accolade

Last Michigan Runner of the Week:  Rachel Severin (10/23/07)

Caitlin Lane, Penn State
Fr., Greenwich, N.Y. / Greenwich

Lane began here collegiate career in style placing first in the Dolan Duals at Lock Haven last Friday.  The freshman finished the 4,000-meter race with a time of 14:44 and led the Nittany Lions to a team win as well.  This is Lane’s first career weekly award.

Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

Lex Williams, Michigan
Sr., Ann Arbor, Mich. / Dexter

Williams finished first in the opening race of the year at the Michigan Open over the weekend.  The Ann Arbor, Mich., native clocked in at 31:40 on the 10,000-meter course.  This is Williams’ first career weekly honor.
