Big Ten Announces Cross Country Runners of the Week

Women's Cross Country Co-Runners of the Week Kristin Sutherland, Illinois Sutherland placed first in her collegiate debut at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships over the weekend. The Orland Park, Ill., native finished the 5000-meter course in a time of 17:47. The Illini also finished first as a team in the event. This is Sutherland's first career weekly honor. Last Illinois Runner of the Week: Angela Bizzarri (9/26/06) Hanna Grinaker, Wisconsin Grinaker led the Badger runners with a third place finish at the Iowa State Open last weekend. The junior finished with a time of 21:48 in the 6,000-meter race. No team scores were recorded for the event, but five Wisconsin runners did place in the top 10. This is Grinaker's second career weekly award. Last Wisconsin Runner of the Week: Hanna Grinaker (9/19/06)
Jeremy Stevens, Illinois Stevens helped the Illini to a team title at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships over a field of 46 teams. The junior placed second in the 8,000-meter race clocking in at 24:40 to pace Illinois. This is the first weekly laurel of Steven's career. Last Illinois Runner of the Week: Trent Hoerr (9/18/07)
