PARK RIDGE, Ill. - Minnesota's Ben Blankenship has been named the Big Ten men's cross country Runner of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Ben Blankenship takes home Big Ten Runner of the Week accolades for the first time in his career after placing 10th at the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday. The senior finished the 8,000-meter course in 24:31, helping the Golden Gophers finish fifth out of 22 teams. Blankenship's time was more than 20 seconds faster than his finish at the 2009 Griak Invitational.
