Indiana and Iowa Earn Big Ten Men's Cross Country Weekly Honors

PARK RIDGE, Ill. - Indiana's Ben Hubers and Iowa's Jeff Thode have been named the Big Ten Conference men's cross country Co-Runners of the Week, announced on Tuesday.

Ben Hubers earns his first Big Ten Runner of the Week distinction after leading Indiana to a second-place finish out of 50 teams at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival on Saturday. Hubers' time of 29:39 placed him eighth out of 470 runners in the 10-kilometer race. The junior's finish marks the third time in four races he has been the top Hoosier finisher after winning both the Indiana Open and Indiana Intercollegiate Championships earlier this season.

Jeff Thode, Iowa
Jeff Thode paced Iowa at the Bradley Classic on Friday, finishing less than a second out of first place to lead the Hawkeyes to their third team win of the season. Thode's 8-kilometer time of 23:37 marked a personal best and the fifth-best time in Iowa history en route to the first weekly award of his career. He has been the top Hawkeye finisher in every race this season.
