Penn State advances to play No. 1 Ohio State in the second semifinal at approximately 7:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 4, 2007. The game will be televised live on CSN Chicago.
Penn State is now 20-10 overall in the Big Ten Tournament.
Illinois has a 10-13 record in the Big Ten Tournament.
Penn State holds a 3-1 advantage between the two schools in Big Ten Tournament play.
In its first time as the No. 5 seed, Penn State holds a 1-0 record.
Penn State has won its opening round game in six consecutive Big Ten Tournaments and is 11-2 in its first game since the tournament's inception in 1995.
Amanda Brown pulled down 18 rebounds for Penn State in the contest. It is a Big Ten Tournament single game record and is the also the most a Nittany Lion has recorded in a Big Ten Tournament game.
Brown's 18 boards is also a career-best for the Penn State senior.
The Fighting Illini went a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line in the game. It is the only time that Illinois has been perfect from the line in a Big Ten Tournament contest.
Illinois' 49 points is its lowest total ever in a Big Ten Tournament game. The previous team low was 50 points, set against Michigan State in the 2005 quarterfinals.
It was the first time all season that Illinois failed to have a player score in double figures.
