INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball team could not silence the Michigan State shooting attack and fell to the Spartans in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament, 97-68. Three Hoosiers scored in double-figures led by Alisha Goodwin's 16 points. Quaneisha McCurty tallied 15 points as Candyce Ussery added 10 points for IU.
The Spartans (20-10) jumped ahead in the early going, 8-3, before Goodwin nailed back-to-back jumpers to pull IU (6-24) within one, 8-7, with 13:46 on the clock. Michigan State then put together a 13-0 run over the next 3:09 to increase its lead to 21-7. Danilsa Andujar silenced that MSU outburst with a bucket at the 10:19 mark.
