• Ohio State marked its 18th consecutive win of the season against Michigan State in the semifinals, good enough to stand alone for the second-longest winning streak in program history. The 1984-85 Buckeyes hold the school record with 20 straight victories.

• Ohio State is 7-2 against ranked opponents this season, while Michigan State drops to 3-8 vs. ranked foes.

• The Buckeyes are 17-11 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament, including a 3-1 mark as the No. 1 seed. Michigan State falls to 9-11 in the conference tournament and 1-1 as the No. 4 seed.

• Ohio State is 3-4 all-time in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament, while Michigan State falls to 1-4.

• OSU advances to the title game of the Big Ten Tournament for the first time since 2003. That year, the No. 4 Buckeyes fell to then-No. 3 Purdue, 67-65. Ohio State has never won the Big Ten Tournament.

• Ohio State head coach Jim Foster earned his 100th victory at the helm of the Buckeye program today. Foster, currently in his fourth season, is 6-3 at the Big Ten Tournament.

• Ohio State leads the all-time series with Michigan State, 44-19, including a 3-0 mark vs. the Spartans this season. In addition, the Buckeyes are 5-1 against MSU in the Big Ten Tournament.

• Ohio State junior and two-time Big Ten Player of the Year Jessica Davenport tied the tournament single game record with six blocks against Michigan State. MSU's Kristen Rasmussen also had six swats against Indiana on Feb. 26, 1999.

• With six blocks thus far into the 2006 Big Ten Tournament, Davenport has moved into sole possession of first place for the most blocks in a career at the Big Ten Tournament. Davenport tops the list with 19 career swats in six games at the event. Rasmussen previously held the No. 1 spot with 18 in her six games from 1997-2000. Of note, Davenport needs five blocks in the championship game to set the single-tournament record of 11 swats, held by Angela Hawkins of Indiana.

• Davenport finished with 10 points and 14 boards against the Spartans for her 11th double-double of the season, and the 29th of her career.

• Davenport ties for ninth on the single-game Big Ten Tournament list with her 14 rebounds against Michigan State.

• Her 14 rebounds also moved Davenport into sixth on the Buckeyes' career rebounds list. She has 749 for her career, passing Francine Lewis, who had 747 from 1983-86.

• Ohio State had four players score in double-figures: Brandie Hoskins (15), Marscilla Packer (15), Debbie Merrill (15) and Davenport (10). Ohio State is 8-0 this season when four players score double digits.

• With her four assists against Michigan State, Ohio State's Ashley Allen moves into seventh on the Buckeyes' career assists list with 343. She passed Cheryl Perozek, who had 341 from 1988-91.

• The meeting between Michigan State and Ohio State in the semifinals marked the seventh time the two squads have met in the Big Ten Tournament. That total ties for the most meetings between any two schools at the event. Penn State and Ohio State met for the seventh time in this year's quarterfinals. OSU moved to 6-1 against MSU in the Big Ten Tournament.

• With Michigan State's loss, it marks the sixth time the defending champion has failed to make the championship game. Penn State failed to advance to the title game in 1997 after winning the title in 1996. Iowa failed in 1998 after claiming the championship in 1997. Purdue could not advance back to the finals in 2002 or 2004 after garnering titles in 2001 and 2003. Indiana did not make it back to the title tilt in 2003 after winning the 2002 title.

• Michigan State's Liz Shimek established a new school record for points in a single season with 23 against Ohio State. Shimek's season total of 553 tops the mark of 546 held by herself last season and Maxann Reese (1998-99). Lindsay Bowen also moved up the single season scoring list. She notched 11 points against Ohio State to bring her season total to 534, which ranks fourth.

• Michigan State shot 8-of-21 from three-point range against Ohio State. Coupled with its 5-of-8 effort in the quarterfinals against Iowa, Michigan State shot 44.8 percent (13-of-29) from downtown at the tournament. The percentage ranks ninth on the single tournament team list. Purdue (19-of-37 for 51.4 percent) and Ohio State (8-of-16 for 50 percent) in 2004 were the last teams to shoot a better percentage during the tournament.

• The Spartans combined for 30 steals over their two games at the 2006 Big Ten Tournament. The total ties for fifth on the team single tournament list. The last team with 30 or more steals in a tournament was Illinois with 30 in 2001.

• Michigan State falls to 3-8 against ranked opponents this season. Three of those losses have come at the hands of Ohio State.

• Michigan State's Liz Shimek combined to shot 24-of-33 (72.7 percent) from the floor in the Spartans' two games at the Big Ten Tournament. Her 24 field goals made during the tournament ties for ninth on the single tournament list, while her field goal percentage ranks as the fourth single-tournament high. The last player to shoot better from the field during a tournament was MSU's Kelli Roehrig (11-of-15 for 73.3 percent) during the 2004 event.

• Ohio State became the sixth No. 1 seed in the 12-year history of the event to make the finals of the Big Ten Tournament. Penn State advanced to the championship game in 1995, 2000 and 2004 as the top seed, while Purdue pulled the trick in 1999 and 2001.
