Minnesota - Head Coach - Pam Borton
Opening statement:
"I'm very, very proud of my team for coming out and playing like champions. Hopefully we'll play like champions tomorrow so we can be the Big Ten champions. I thought our defense was key to this game. We got the job done on the boards and didn't let them get a lot of second shots. This was a great win over a great basketball team."

On the officiating:
"I think both teams played very physical. I thought the officiating was very good. At times I thought it was getting too physical, especially in the paint, but they were making the calls so it wasn't getting out of control. I thought on both sides it was very well officiated."

On her feelings after the win:
"I don't think anyone thought we were going to win, except ourselves. I think our team is the only one who believed in us. But right now it is still unfinished business. We're very excited we beat Ohio State, they're a very good team, but we have another big game tomorrow. We'll get excited after we win tomorrow."

Minnesota - Janel McCarville - Center
On Jessica Davenport:

"Defensively, I was trying to be more physical and wanted to keep her out of the lane.  I was trying to push her out at times to deny her the ball. My teammates gave me coverage and help whenever they thought I needed it, and just doing anything we could to shut her down."

On the consistency of officiating:
"Right from the start you could tell what kind of calls the referees were going to make. They let us play a little bit. I thought it was one of the best officiated games that I have played in. They were very consistent on both sides of the ball."

Minnesota - Jamie Broback - Forward
On what to work on:

"I think right now we're looking for mismatches and were looking for everyone to produce. With (Jessica) Davenport in there we were just looking. We were looking to keep her out of the paint. I think we were just looking for whatever option we could get as long as we come out on top."

Minnesota - Shannon Bolden - Guard
On rebounding:

"This year I have to concentrate on two things: defense and rebounding. They want me to keep inside and keep things alive especially on the offensive end and get second shots. I wanted to be aggressive on the boards today and not leave anything on the court."

On guarding Caity Matter:
"Matter is a great outside shooter and we just wanted to pressure her on the perimeter for two reasons. One was that she couldn't get a look at the basket and also so she couldn't get a good look inside at (Jessica) Davenport."

Ohio State - Head Coach - Jim Foster
On the level of physical play:

"It was a very physical basketball game. They have a couple of big, strong kids we had trouble defending them."

On Minnesota's Janel McCarville:
"If you're going to make it a game of strength, there are not too many people that are going to compete with her. She is one of the strongest players I have ever seen."

On what Ohio State learned in the game:
"We had a lot of freshmen do some things tonight that I thought were a good sign. (Marscilla) Packer had been struggling a little bit. She came in and was willing to take shots. Alice (Jamen) was very active and did some good things for us. Tamarah (Riley) hopefully will pick up some of that and learn from it. I don't think you ever stop growing in the course of the season just because it's late."

Ohio State - Center - Jessica Davenport
On Janel McCarville's defensive play:

"She pushed me out of my spot. She's a strong player and I didn't get low enough in the post and I wasn't able to do what I like to do."

On such a physical game:
"The last game we played was a physical game. In the tournament it's another level of basketball and another level of playing. You have to expect a physical game and I really didn't feel like it was any different from any game we've played this season."

Ohio State - Guard - Ashley Allen
On the defensive play of Minnesota:
"They were fronting somewhat and also playing behind Jessica (Davenport). They were making it really tough to get the entry pass into the post."
