INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Wendy Ausdemore scored a season-high 25 points, and Iowa defeated Minnesota 79-64 on Friday night in the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals.
Kachine Alexander had 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Kristi Smith added 15 points and five assists for the Hawkeyes (21-9), who won their seventh straight.
Brittany McCoy and Ashley Ellis-Milan each scored 15 points and Emily Fox added 13 for Minnesota (19-11), which has lost four of five and might have damaged its hopes of reaching the NCAA tournament.
The Hawkeyes shot 50 percent from the field and outrebounded the Golden Gophers 40-31.
Iowa advanced to play top seed Ohio State on Saturday. The 12th-ranked Buckeyes defeated Illinois 70-53 on Friday.
In the other semifinal, No. 3 seed Purdue will play No. 7 seed Wisconsin.
