Michigan and Nebraska Standouts Earn Weekly Accolades

Michigan's Siera Thompson was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday.

• Averaged 26.0 points and 6.5 assists, shot 66.7 percent from the floor and played all 85 minutes of Nebraska’s two-game split last week against Minnesota and Purdue
• Poured in a career-high 33 points in the Huskers’ overtime win against Minnesota, adding nine assists and helping Nebraska recover from a 14-point second-half deficit
• Scored a team-high 19 points and added four assists against Purdue, finishing the week shooting 5-of-7 (71.4 percent) from three-point range
• Claims her first career Player of the Week honor

Ariel Edwards, Sr., G/F, PSU: Helped Penn State to two victories over Ohio State and Michigan State after averaging 14.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists
Whitney Bays, Jr., F, PUR: Led Purdue to a 2-1 mark last week, averaging 16.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.0 steals against Michigan, Indiana and Nebraska, and scored the game-winner against the Huskers

• Guided Michigan to victories against nationally ranked Purdue and Illinois last week, playing all 80 minutes and shooting 57.1 percent from three-point range over the two games
• Scored 12 point with five rebounds, three assists and two steals in the road victory over the Boilermakers
• Hit a career-best five three-pointers en route to a 19-point outing against the Illini, chipping in three assists and a steal
