Michigan State and Ohio State Earn Weekly Big Ten Honors

Player of the Week:
Johnson earns her second Player of the Week honor of the season after leading the Spartans to a pair of conference victories last week. The junior posted double-doubles in each outing, beginning with a 16-point, 10-rebound effort against Indiana on Thursday night. In Michigan State’s Sunday contest against Minnesota, Johnson finished the week with 20 points and 17 rebounds, also contributing five blocks and four steals in the win. On the week, she averaged 18.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.5 steals to help keep Michigan State atop the Big Ten standings.

Freshman of the Week:
Adams shot 80 percent from the floor last week, averaging 14.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.5 earning Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors for the first time. In a win over Illinois, the freshman filled the stat sheet with 13 points, nine rebounds, five blocks, four assists and three steals. Adams followed that effort with a 16-point outing vs. No. 18/21 Iowa on Monday, contributing seven rebounds and two steals in the Buckeye victory.
