Three Schools Earn Player of the Week Accolades

Northwestern's Nia Coffey was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.

• Averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in leading Penn State to victories against Indiana and Minnesota
• Finished with 18 points and eight rebounds against Indiana, adding two assists and one steal
• Scored a team-high 25 points in Sunday's victory over Minnesota, adding three rebounds, three assists and three steals
• Claims her fifth career Player of the Week honor

Liza Clemons, Purdue
Jr., F, Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider
• Led Purdue to wins over Northwestern and Illinois last week, averaging 18.0 points on 72 percent shooting and 7.0 rebounds
• Opened the week with a double-double against Northwestern, finishing with 23 points and 10 rebounds, both career highs
• Ended the week with 13 points on 83 percent shooting, four rebounds and one block in a road victory against Illinois
• Wins her first career Player of the Week award

Theairra Taylor, Sr., G, IOWA: Scored a season-high 20 points on 72.7 percent shooting, adding two rebounds and two steals in a win over Indiana
Nia Coffey, Fr., F, NU: Averaged 21.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks against a pair of ranked foes last week, including a double-double in a win against Nebraska

• Averaged 21.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks for Northwestern against a pair of ranked foes last week
• Recorded her sixth double-double of the season, finishing with 22 points and 10 rebounds in a win over nationally ranked Nebraska, while adding four steals and three assists
• Posted 20 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in 37 minutes against nationally ranked Purdue
• Wins her third Freshman of the Week honor this season
