Minnesota's Broback Selected Big Ten Player of the Week

Broback earns the second Player of the Week honor of her career (Nov. 15, 2004), after leading the Golden Gophers to a pair of wins last week, including one over Big Ten foe Penn State. 

In a 79-70 win over North Dakota State on Thursday, Broback paved the way for the Gophers, posting career highs with 33 points and five steals, while adding nine rebounds as well.  Tied at 28 at halftime, Broback led Minnesota's charge in the second period, scoring 12 of Minnesota's first 14 points in the half.  In Sunday's 77-72 victory over Penn State, Broback led the way for the Gophers, scoring 25 points, while adding eight rebounds and five assists.  Mirroring her streak against NDSU, Broback netted 10 straight points in the second half against the Lady Lions. 

On the week, Broback averaged 29.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals in 32 minutes.  She was also near perfect from the charity stripe this past week, shooting 95 percent on 19-of-20 attempts.
