Jessica Davenport, Ohio State
6-4, SO, C, Columbus, Ohio/Independence

Davenport earns her third Big Ten Player of the Week award of the season and her career, after she averaged 34.0 points and 11.5 rebounds in wins at Wisconsin and Illinois last week.  The Buckeye center was a combined 30-of-41 from the field for a .732 percentage and posted four blocked shots, one steal and three assists in the two contests.

At Wisconsin, Davenport scored a career-best and Kohl Center record 36 points off a 15-of-21 night from the field.  Her 36 points is tied for fourth on the Ohio State all-time single-game scoring list.  Against Illinois, Davenport tallied her sixth-season and 10th-career double-double with 32 points and 14 rebounds as she led OSU to its 10th-consecutive victory and improved the squad to 21-2 overall and 8-1 in League competition.  The Buckeyes have won 10 consecutive games.

Davenport's career high 36 points last week at Wisconsin marked the most points scored by a Big Ten student-athlete since Michigan's Jennifer Smith had 37 versus Charlotte on December 3, 2003.  After her 32 points against Illinois, the OSU sophomore became the first Big Ten player to record back-to-back 30-point games since Minnesota's Lindsay Whalen scored 31 at Virginia (12/29/03) and 32 at home versus Michigan (1/1/04).  Davenport is also the first to record 30 points in consecutive Big Ten games since Penn State's Kelly Mazzante scored 33 at home against Iowa (1/9/03) and 31 at Northwestern (1/12/03).
