Indiana senior guard Tyra Buss is among 10 women’s basketball standouts nationwide that have been named finalists for the 2017-18 Senior CLASS Award, which is presented annually to one male and one female senior student who have made notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
Buss will appear on the official Senior CLASS Award ballot, which is being distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one male and one female recipient. Iowa’s Samantha Logic is the most recent Big Ten women’s basketball student to earn the Senior CLASS Award, doing so in 2014.
This year’s Senior CLASS Award honoree will be announced during the 2018 NCAA Women’s Final Four® from March 30-April 1 in Columbus, Ohio. For more information on each of the finalists, visit seniorCLASSaward.com.
