PARK RIDGE, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference and Comcast SportsNet Chicago announced Tuesday the selections of the two "Wildcard" games, which will conclude the regular season next week. The Penn State at Ohio State contest will mark the first televised game, which will be played Thursday, Feb. 22, at 8 p.m. ET. Dave Eanet is scheduled as the play-by-play talent, while Suzie McConnell-Serio will handle analyst duties.
Currently, No. 4 Ohio State sits atop the conference standings at 12-0 with an overall record of 23-1. Penn State, which enters the week in sixth place in the Big Ten at 5-7 and 12-13 overall, gave the Buckeyes their closest scare so far this conference season - a two-point 63-61 final in State College on Jan. 11.
The second and final "Wildcard" contest on Comcast SportsNet Chicago will feature Minnesota at No. 24 Michigan State, which is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 26, at 1 p.m. ET. Eanet will handle the play-by-play with analysis coming from Sarah Kustok.
The Spartans, currently ranked second in the Big Ten at 10-2 and 19-6 overall, will welcome the Golden Gophers to the Breslin Center for the teams' lone meeting this season. Minnesota is currently seventh in the conference at 6-7 with a 14-12 overall record this season.
