Spartans' DeHaan and Purdue's Gearlds Share Weekly Honor

DeHaan averaged 18.5 points, seven rebounds and four blocks per game as she led the Spartans to wins over Northwestern and No. 4/5 Ohio State. She started the week by scoring 12 points and recording six rebounds off the bench on Thursday against the Wildcats. Reentering the starting lineup for the first time in five games at Ohio State, DeHaan posted 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting, eight rebounds and five blocked shots. She took over the game against OSU in the final minute, scoring the go-ahead bucket for MSU's first lead with 47 seconds left on a turnaround jumper, and then put back the go-ahead bucket with 20 seconds left to help MSU take the lead for good. DeHaan added two free throws with 1.7 seconds left to cement the win.

Katie Gearlds, Purdue
Purdue went 2-0 this past week behind a record-setting performance by Gearlds, as she set a single-game school and UW Kohl Center record with a career-high 41 points in the Boilermakers' 69-60 victory at Wisconsin. Gearlds was the game's leading rebounder with nine boards and her game-high 41 points came on 13-of-20 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. Gearlds also made 12-of-13 free throws in the winning effort. In the win at Michigan last Thursday, she scored a team-high 21 points and tied for team-high rebounding honors with seven. For the week, Gearlds averaged 31 points, eight rebounds and two assists while shooting 55.3 percent from the field. This is Gearlds' third weekly honor of the season and her career.
