Michigan State clinched at least a share of its third Big Ten Championship in program history on Sunday after defeating Illinois, 69-56. The Spartans claim a share of their first conference title since 2005, the same year they advanced to the national championship game. Michigan State also won a share of the 1997 Big Ten Championship. Michigan State also clinched the top seed in the 2011 Big Ten Tournament.

Kalisha Keane led the way for the Spartans, scoring a team-high 27 points, while Brittney Thomas added 19. Karisma Penn paced the Illini with her Big Ten-leading 16th double-double, recording a game-high 33 points and 11 rebounds.
