Getting ready for the second game of the day ... #3 seed Purdue vs. #6 seed Indiana from Conseco Fieldhouse. These in-state rivals are battling for the second time this season. (20:00, 1st Half): Indiana wins the tip and we are under way. (14:47, 1st Half): Fast-paced first segment of the game as Indiana leads 14-10 heading into our first media timeout. (12:55, 1st Half): Timeout, Purdue. Indiana has opened up an eight-point lead at 20-12. (11:48, 1st Half): Indiana 20, Purdue 14 ... under-12 media timeout. (9:55, 1st Half): Purdue uses their second timeout of the first half as Indiana extends the lead to 27-16. The Hoosiers are shooting 65% from the field. (7:40, 1st Half): Indiana 29, Purdue 18 ... under 8-media timeout. (4:23, 1st Half): Timeout, Indiana. Purdue has made a 9-3 run to cut the deficit to five. (3:22, 1st Half): Indiana 34, Purdue 27 ... under 4-minute timeout. (Halftime): Indiana 36, Purdue 35. The Boilermakers pull within one point with an 8-2 run to end the half and a 17-7 run over the final 7:40 .... (15:45, 2nd Half): Indiana 42, Purdue 40 with Indiana going to the line to shoot two free throws. (11:11, 2nd Half): AND ONE! Purdue closes within two points with a free throw coming after the media timeout. (7:45, 2nd Half): Indiana calls timeout as Purdue takes a three-point lead. Purdue 55, Indiana 52. (5:49, 2nd Half): Purdue 57, Indiana 55 .... under 8-minute media timeout. (4:19, 2nd Half): Steal and a bucket for Indiana -- Hoosiers lead 61-59 as we continue to go back and forth here in the second half.
(3:57, 2nd Half): And one! Purdue ties it up at 61-61 with a free throw coming after the under-4 media timeout. (2:09, 2nd Half): Indiana calls timeout after splitting a pair of free throws and tying the game up at 62. (1:15, 2nd Half): After a left-handed runner by Indiana to tie it, Purdue calls timeout. Both teams have one timeout left in what is now a tie game at 64. (14.4 seconds, 2nd Half): Purdue takes a lead with a jail break lay-up ... Indiana uses its final timeout ... down 2 with 14.4 seconds remaining. Final Score: Purdue 68, Indiana 64 --- Purdue will take on Wisconsin in the first semifinal tomorrow night. |
