Pregame:  Iowa and Minnesota will take to the floor in the final quarterfinal of the day for the #4/#5 matchup.

(20:00, 1st Half):  We are under way at Conseco!

(15:07, 1st Half):  Fast start in a huge game for both Iowa and Minnesota ... Iowa 14, Minnesota 11 at the under-16 minute timeout.

(11:43, 1st Half):  It's raining 3's!  Iowa 26, Minnesota 17 as both teams continue to shoot to ball well.  Three straight 3's by Iowa lead Pam Borton to call a timeout.

(10:45, 1st Half):  Minnesota scores plus a foul -- Iowa 26, Minnesota 19 as we head to the under-12 timeout.

(7:30, 1st Half):  Iowa 30, Minnesota 25 -- under-8 minute timeout.

(4:14, 1st Half):  The rare, FOUR POINT PLAY!  Kristi Smith hits the three ... AND ONE!

(3:46, 1st Half):  Iowa 38, Minnesota 29 -- under-4 minute timeout ... the Hawkeyes shooting 54% from the field on the night.

(Halftime):  Iowa called timeout with 5 seconds left to set up a full court play for the final shot -- the inbounds pass was stolen and instead Minnesota gets the final four points .... Iowa 44, Minnesota 34

(20:00, 2nd Half):  ...and we're back!

(15:44, 2nd Half):  Media timeout ... Iowa 56, Minnesota 45

(10:14, 2nd Half):  Media timeout -- under-12 media, in fact.  Iowa 64, Minnesota 53.  Both teams are shooting at least 48% from the field now in the high scoring affair.

(7:07, 2nd Half):  Under-8 media timeout after a mid-court collision results in a traveling call.  Iowa 64, Minnesota 54.  Golden Gopher basketball coming out.

(3:42, 2nd Half):  Minnesota calls timeout as the game is slipping away.  Iowa has extended the lead to 15 -- Iowa 75, Minnesota 60 in our highest scoring game of the day.


 

 

This is the 1,000th game in Iowa women's basketball history.

(2:45, 2nd Half):  Under-4 minute timeout ... Iowa 75, Minnesota 60.

(1:11, 2nd Half):  Iowa 77, Minnesota 62 ... timeout Minnesota -- they have one left.  Wendy Ausdemore has 25 points to lead the Hawkeyes.

Final Score:  Iowa 79, Minnesota 64 ... Iowa will face Ohio State in the second semifinal tomorrow ...
