2nd, 7:54, TIMEOUT (MICH): Iowa 45, Michigan 30
2nd, 7:17, TIMEOUT (MEDIA): Iowa 45, Michigan 30
As you can tell by the score, this game has turned into a game of streaks. Iowa is on a current one, having outscored Michigan 8-0 in the last three minutes. Perhaps it is due to a lack of depth on the bench or just not being used to playing on consecutive days in the tournament, but Michigan looks tired and Iowa is taking advantage of that with fresh substitutions.
2nd, 5:56, TIMEOUT (IOWA): Iowa 45, Michigan 31
2nd, 3:44, TIMEOUT (MEDIA): Iowa 51, Michigan 33
It appears that Iowa has the game in hand. Michigan is exhausted, but that certainly does not mean there was a lack of effort. Borseth and the Wolverines probably needed a win today to get them in the NCAA Tournament. We will wait to hear the selections on Monday. Iowa's Johanna Solverson, who was featured on the Big Ten's website earlier this year, has played a steady game today. She has 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting, 9 rebounds and 2 assists.
2nd, 2:28, TIMEOUT (MICH): Iowa 53, Michigan 36
FINAL: Iowa 58, Michigan 37
Iowa advances to the semifinals with a 21-point win over the Wolverines. The 37 points for Michigan are a tournament low for the team, but the Wolverines also held Iowa to 58 points -- 5 points off of its all-time BTT low point total.
